About Us

The Salida Pak Mail is locally-owned and operated by Skye and Dennis Ridley.  We bought the store in May, 2009 from Pat and Betty McGinley, who first opened it in 2000 and established a great reputation for friendly customer service and community involvement.  We work hard to continue that tradition.

Skye manages the Pak Mail.  After moving to Chaffee County in 2002, she became the Marketing Manager for the local hospital and later managed the Chaffee County office of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).  She has served on the boards of the Steam Plant, Chaffee Housing Trust, and Salida Rotary Club.  She's currently a member of the new Sunrise Rotary Club

Dennis has lived here since 1979.  He owned the River Valley Inn restaurant in Buena Vista before moving to Salida.  He's a Real Estate Agent at First Colorado Land Office, is a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club, and has served on the Salida Recreation Advisory Committee.

Now, on to the other members of our team.  We are lucky enough to have the most capable and friendly people in Colorado
working with us at the Salida Pak Mail.

David Wilcox, our Freight Manager, learned about shipping when he operated his Internet used book business.  He has worked
in jobs from testing computer networking software to operating potato harvesters.  He can create websites, fix computers,
install electrical wiring, rebuild car engines, and flawlessly imitate any accent in the world.  In his spare time, he is training as a
glassblower and has already wowed us with the beautiful pieces he creates while learning.  We suspect he could perform
brain surgery if he wanted to.  At Pak Mail, he's our expert on building crates; he crated a Jeep engine, a rocket-ship sculpture, a
totem pole, and a table saw during his first month here.  Now we're waiting to see how he can top that.

Thanks for all your skills and hard work, David!

Dave Strosnider (yes, another David!), our Shipping Manager, managed the Buena Vista, Colorado airport for many years and
is a partner in the Colorado Center, a high-tech business park also in Buena Vista.  Before all that, he was a facilities engineer and
project manager at the Pfizer Corporation for almost two decades.  So he obviously has extraordinary skills in managing and
growing businesses.  He's helping Pak Mail expand our operations to include more printing, direct mail, and services for travelers.
When he was younger and lighter, Dave was a "perspiring" gymnast, which explains why he thinks so well in three dimensions.

We appreciate your experience and guidance, Dave!

Before coming to Salida a few years ago, Teresa Koransky lived in Atlanta, where she learned to appreciate Southern food and
Southern music.  She's been a volunteer and the Program Manager at KHEN, Salida's only public radio station.  She's a CADD
(Computer-Aided Drafting and Design) pro and a VOP (Very Organized Person), which helps explain her incredible skill at
estimating just the right sizes of boxes for our more complex packing jobs, her ability to organize the work flow in our packaging
area, and her wonderful talent for helping customers understand shipping rules and regs.  In addition, she's strong!  We've see her
wrestle a 300-pound package into a cardboard box bigger than she is.

Thanks for all your abilities and perseverance, Teresa!

Last but not least, we want to acknowledge our most important team members:  OUR CUSTOMERS!
We learn from you every day.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support!

When we shipped packages to our son in Iraq, you were excellent in helping us with the shipping.  You made it worry-free for our son to receive his packages.  THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for helping us with all the paperwork that had to be done to ship the packages to Iraq!
